About Me

Hello. I'm Yasmeen Beyhum

My paintings capture important symbols, from sacred to innocent, moving between seriousness and playfulness. I aim to bring out a natural and authentic energy in people, helping them connect with their instincts. Through my work, I encourage self-reflection, exploring our emotions and beliefs, and embracing our spontaneous and lighthearted side. Using a range of colours and textures, my collections under "Unveiling Life's Canvas: Art that Serves as a Companion to your Journey of Transformation," I invite viewers to embrace life's ups and downs with a balance of humour and wisdom.

Biography

With an MA in Art History from SOAS London, Yasmeen Beyhum's Journey is intertwined with Middle Eastern abstract art and miniature painting from the 6th-21st Century. Facilitating art sales to collectors, she ventured into painting in 2019. Recently guided by Canadian Artist Michelle Miller, Yasmeen's transformation began, evolving her signature expansive White Series into a playful, child-like collection as seen in the characters of 'Laughter's Melody, 2023.' Luminescent neon acrylic hues breathe life under black light or on dark walls, while fish, butterfly and puppet-like figures emerge through line, form, shape, colour and texture. Drawing from her love of dance, Zen minimalism and inspirations like Kandinsky, her art uniquely mirrors life's contrasts. 'I mirror life's extremities,' Yasmeen avows, embodying the art of highs and lows.
